Aviation Security Department is an integral part of the organization as we operate under a regulatory environment to ensure the safety and security of passengers as they move through our airport. 

Position overview

As Coordinator, Security Programs, you will be responsible for promoting, communicating and educating on various security programs including International SOS (ISOS), Corporate Security, Public Safety, Human Trafficking and Security Awareness, among others.  

Key responsibilities include

  • Administering and promoting ISOS program to Airport Authority employees, and briefing employees on risks prior to travel
  • Administering and maintaining Corporate Security program to protect employees, assets and information from threats, including identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities
  • Educating employees about security policies and procedures, and promoting best practices to create a security-conscious culture 
  • Promoting security awareness and chairing the Airport Security Committee to keep stakeholders informed of trends, training and best practices
  • Organizing campaigns to raise public awareness about the signs of human trafficking and how to report it
  • Attending bi-weekly new employee onboarding (YVR Arrivals) to promote security to new hires and volunteers, and review RAIC application process

Key qualifications include:

  • At least five years’ relevant experience in an airport environment, supplemented by a post-secondary certificate or diploma in criminal justice, security management or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Exemplary analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills with the ability to form sound judgment in a complex, technical environment, sometimes with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written), interpersonal, collaboration and organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to implement crime prevention and awareness initiatives with proven experience working effectively with multiple levels of internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Proficiency with MS 365 applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Sway, for use in promoting security awareness and developing training materials

Salary Range : $72,008 to $94,115 per annum, based on 37.5 hours per week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
