Position overview

Are you a seasoned leader with a wealth of expertise in contract management, guiding every phase seamlessly from planning through to execution? Do you have demonstrated experience collaborating effectively with third-party service providers, while also maintaining a clear understanding of how their performance aligns with the broader goals of our service delivery model?

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Manager, Contracts. Reporting to the Director, Operational Strategy & Reporting, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Contract Management Plans for YVR Operations and establishing key performance indicators, implement protocols to mitigate risks, and address any concerns. Additionally, this role will lead the team responsible for service level reporting, performance measurement, and continuous improvement initiatives, while managing supplier relationships, ensuring contract compliance, and monitoring financial and operational performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify potential contract risks, develop mitigation strategies, and provide recommendations as necessary
  • Lead Operations contracts by managing service level reporting, performance metrics, ensuring accuracy in reporting from service providers, identifying areas for improvement, and monitoring compliance issues
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as Legal, Finance, and Supply Management, to ensure contract requirements are met and understood
  • Facilitate performance discussions with Service Providers, conduct performance reviews, and address areas for improvement through collaborative problem-solving
  • Engage in annual business planning and budgeting processes while managing departmental budget
  • Support team members by monitoring performance, providing coaching, offering technical expertise, and guiding professional growth

Key qualifications include:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in contract management, supplemented by a university degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role, showcasing exceptional relationship management abilities and a proven capacity to build strong professional relationships
  • In-depth knowledge of contract management concepts, principles, practices and techniques, with expertise in private and public sector best practices throughout the contract management cycle, from planning to implementation
  • Demonstrated success in creatively structuring commercial solicitations and relationship designs to address diverse organization needs and adapt to market conditions
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, facilitate and deliver impactful presentations.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Salary Range : $102,880 to $154,320 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity. Performance-Based Incentive: Eligible for an annual bonus target at 15% of your annual salary.
