Position overview
Do you thrive on building relationships and leading a team? Reporting to the Director, Indigenous Relations, the Manager, Indigenous Relations (Program Delivery) is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the relationship between Vancouver Airport Authority (VAA) and Musqueam in keeping with the Musqueam Indian Band – YVR Airport Sustainability and Friendship Agreement (Friendship Agreement), expanding relations with other Indigenous organizations and VAA Indigenous community partners.
Key responsibilities include:
• Working with Musqueam Chief and Council, administration, and community members to develop and deliver on Friendship Agreement initiatives
• Providing guidance on Musqueam protocol, procedures, and principles
• Guiding Indigenous Relations team members in organizing and delivering reconciliation and Friendship Agreement programs, events and initiatives
• Leading employment, training and contracting programs in collaboration with Musqueam and VAA teams that provide opportunities for jobs, capacity building, business opportunities, and partnership
• Building relationships with Musqueam businesses, employees, and scholarship applicants, providing advocacy, coaching, mentorship and training as required
• Collaborating with Musqueam elders, educators and knowledge keepers as well as internal YVR teams to support program delivery
• Providing support for YVR’s Indigenous and non-Indigenous partners in support of programs, agreements, and reconciliation.
• Attending internal and external meetings, committees, working groups and community events to build and enhance relationships across the VAA community
Key qualifications include:
• At least seven years’ combined experience in Indigenous relations, with at least five years managing teams and/or projects; supplemented by a bachelor’s degree in Indigenous Relations, Planning or Business and/or Musqueam-specific cultural learning; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Thorough understanding of Musqueam, including values, vision and values
• Preference given to Musqueam Band members
This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.

Salary Range: $102,880 to $154,320 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
Performance-Based Incentive: Eligible for an annual bonus target of up to 15% of your annual salary.
