The Terminal Operations team establishes the overall operating parameters for the terminal, implementing innovative strategies to safety streamline the flow and process for travellers arriving, departing, and connecting through the airport.

Position overview 

We have an exciting and dynamic opportunity for a permanent, full-time Manager, Terminal Operations (Delivery) to join our Terminal Operations team. Reporting to the Director, Terminal Operations and Facilitation, the successful candidate will provide leadership and oversight for YVR’s terminal delivery team to ensure they have the tools they need to manage the safe and secure movement of people through our terminal facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the terminal delivery program and ensure that all relevant operational procedures and relevant contingencies are all documented.
  • Manage and participate in the Terminal Response Team component of YVR’s overall Incident Management Team program, acting as the Terminal Operations’ lead representative for all YVR emergency exercises and tabletop sessions.
  • Manage the requirements of terminal construction by delivering expectations around acceptable operational impacts to YVR Engineering and collaborating with the Project Management teams to minimize impact to the business.
  • Leading a team of professionals including coaching, training, directing, disciplining, ensuring vacation and other leave is properly followed, co-setting Check-Ins for Success, providing support, feedback and an environment conducive to success and professional growth.
  • Participating in, or overseeing, special projects and other assignments

Key qualifications include:

  • Five years recent experience working in aviation or decision-making role supplemented by a post-secondary education in Business or Operations Management; or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability assess situational context and apply sound judgment. 
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to work with ambiguity.
  • Proven knowledge and skill in Incident Command response with particular ability leading when a Unified Command incident response is required.
  • Excellent ability to organize and facilitate effective communication between multiple stakeholders within the airport community.
  • Proven relationship skills including the ability to organize and facilitate effective communication between multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated people leadership skills with an ability to lead a diverse airport operations team.

Salary Range : $100,640 to $144,670 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Performance-Based Incentive: Eligible for an annual bonus target at 15% of your annual salary.
